Our Philosophy & Approach

Modern dining room with a long table, upholstered chairs, large windows, and a chandelier, adjacent to a sitting area with a fireplace and black armchairs.

We believe your home should be a reflection of who you are—elegantly layered with your personality, lifestyle, and point of view. But great design also listens to the home itself. At Mod Decor, we create interiors that feel both deeply personal and beautifully in harmony with the architectural character of the space.

We curate interiors with classic forms, collected objects - where newly discovered pieces converge with intention. Each space is a dialogue between you and your home, brought to life through texture, tone, and detail. The result is a timeless aesthetic that feels layered, intuitive, and entirely your own.

Our process begins with understanding your story: We listen, collaborate, and co-create an intentional design that stands as a true reflection of you. We combine impeccable design expertise with a sharp focus on comfort and functionality, ensuring each space is both beautiful and livable.

Designing with Mod Decor is a seamless, elevated experience. Our full-service approach manages every detail - from initial consultations and design concepts to custom installations and styling. We handle the logistics, so you can focus on the excitement of unveiling your new sanctuary.

Where Fine Art meets Interior Design

Mod Decor was founded by Ashley Hagen - an acclaimed artist, USC professor, and seasoned designer known for translating personal stories into deeply expressive interiors. With a background in museum and gallery exhibitions, Ashley brings a curator’s eye and an artist’s intuition to every project.

Her signature approach blends rich textures, refined color palettes, and sculptural forms to create spaces that feel as thoughtful as a work of art - yet grounded in the rhythms of everyday living. Each design is a collaboration, shaped by your story and elevated by Ashley’s creative vision and meticulous attention to detail.
